an acoustic set..at raden poeas bar sarinah

first time i heard this gig is going to be an acoustic set.. i was confused,
well.. thankfully we had a time to practice for this acoustic set...
yep... we put our TOY post-rock on the set.. yep.. i put the TOY on a caps lock. because this is our "weapon"...we have several toy instruments that we play such as, xylophones,baby bells, cat bells,a small fake fishing rod, well.. because we wanted to play a little bit pop and childlike ambient sounds, there are other instruments we had.. like, voice changer, and handy talkies, but i think is not fit on the set because it's too dark and too spacey..

then yeah... we plan to play four songs..
there are:
1. about a friend
2.shalom
3.fireworks
4.fall asleep

we did the practice at ildo's house. happilly.. and we did a great job to arrange these songs into an acoustic set...
and so.. we picked up our friend siAril at kemang, we arrived at raden poeas bar in about half past ten in the evening.. i already googled about this cafe or bar, it tells me about this bar, held many events and put performance arts in it, and the owner work together with an art institute in jakarta to make the artistic of this cafe,when we get in,we saw many unique artworks inside,
and the show was on a dj break.
and so then we are all decided to wait in the car to watch dvd until the show started again.. then our friends arrive, there were yudhisokasik,with his girlfriend galuh, jodi, tami, and giani we loved you all guys, thx for coming ,, and then we decided to get in the bar to watch the other bands, oh yeah.. we are the last band to closed the show. we play after SARIN, so when SARIN play we prepared our gears. and our toys,

well sarin is a post-rock band to.. and they play acoustic without drums, the set was, 2 acoustic guitars, a bass guitar and one electric guitar with a lot effects with kaoss pad equipped. they play instrumental post-rocks song.. it makes me smile a little bit.. cause it is quite good, and then i take a closer look to them, with my guitar and the toy bags well prepared. and then the electric guitarist closed their set with, noises from the kaoss pad, maybe he wanted to be like merzbow (a harsh noise artist from japan).... ... ... .. .. ... ... ..

and yeah it is our turn,, but we only had a chance to play three songs, so i decided to put away "about a friend" from the set list.

yeah we had a great experience here,, the audience responses were good too.. and they were exicited about our toys concept.. yeah.. we are happy again.. and we closed the show..
